MY PASSION - FOOD INSECURITY
My passion for working in the area of food insecurity began in middle school when I first volunteered with our local food bank, Seeds of Hope. Since then, I have volunteered in many capacities over the last 9 years. My most meaningful contribution is when I was able to lead the Summer Backpacks of Hope Program.
BACKPACKS OF HOPE
This program packed bags with meals for 3 days for over 113 families of 4 each week.
Volunteers collected food from local grocery stores and from friends and neighbors.
Monetary donations went to purchase additional items in order to complete meals.
