MY PASSION - FOOD INSECURITY

My passion for working in the area of food insecurity began in middle school when I first volunteered with our local food bank, Seeds of Hope. Since then, I have volunteered in many capacities over the last 9 years. My most meaningful contribution is when I was able to lead the Summer Backpacks of Hope Program.

BACKPACKS OF HOPE

  • This program packed bags with meals for 3 days for over 113 families of 4 each week.

  • Volunteers collected food from local grocery stores and from friends and neighbors.

  • Monetary donations went to purchase additional items in order to complete meals.

OTHER VOLUNTEER WORK

  • Seeds of Hope (Haunted House, school supply drive, Thursday community drive-thru boxes)

  • Meals on Wheels

  • Confirmation Mentor

  • Youth Camp Soccer Coach

  • Summer Camp (Lego Camp)
